What You Can Expect
This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment. As a Production Trainee, you’ll receive on-the-job training and practical exposure to key production processes while contributing to daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support timely and efficient maintenance activities within the department
- Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy workplace aligned with OSH Act and BASF’s EHSQ policies
- Assist in upholding the Quality Management System standards
- Place raw materials on the production floor and ensure quality approval before product filling
- Operate forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods
- Conduct regular plant inspections during shifts based on established checklists
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and housekeeping in the work area
- Keep protective and operational equipment clean and organized
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Strive to meet monthly productivity and improvement targets
- Carry out any additional tasks as needed within the role
- Ensure full compliance with all BASF policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Your Qualifications
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- One of the following:
- NQF Level 2 theory completed in Chemical Operations (with only practical component outstanding)
- Completed N6 in Chemical Engineering and currently seeking practical training
