Company Overview

Phakisa Holdings is seeking a Code 14 Driver in the Mamelodi area. The role involves safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials using a Code 14 heavy-duty vehicle, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to road safety regulations and maintaining the vehicle in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving & Deliveries: Operate a Code 14 vehicle to transport goods and equipment to assigned locations.
• Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals while minimizing fuel consumption and avoiding traffic delays.
• Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking brakes, tires, lights, and oil levels to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
• Regulatory Compliance: Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations related to transportation and deliveries.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and fuel usage for reporting purposes.
• Customer Interaction: Engage with customers professionally, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
• Loading & Unloading: Assist in loading, unloading, and securing cargo for safe transport.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues or damages.
• Problem-Solving: Handle unexpected road closures, vehicle malfunctions, and delivery challenges by finding alternative solutions.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric
• License: Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with a valid PDP
• Experience: Previous experience operating heavy-duty trucks is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong driving abilities with knowledge of road safety regulations
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and road signage
  • Effective communication with supervisors, customers, and colleagues
  • Ability to lift, stand, bend, and load/unload cargo
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Compensation & Location

• Hourly Rate: R72.59 per hour
• Residence: Candidates must reside in Mamelodi
