Purpose of the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Store Clerk, where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory and supply chain functions. You’ll be responsible for inventory control, supplier coordination, accurate recordkeeping, and efficient order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock Control: Receive and inspect incoming stock, process purchase orders, and manage stock entries.
- Inventory Management: Maintain organized storeroom systems, track inventory movement, and conduct regular stock counts.
- Order Processing: Fulfill internal supply requests, prepare orders for delivery, and ensure proper packaging.
- Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers regarding deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and track lead times.
- Data Management: Accurately record transactions, update inventory systems (e.g., PASTEL), and generate reports.
- Clerical Support: Perform general administrative and clerical tasks within the storeroom environment.
- Logistics Coordination: Prepare shipping documentation, schedule pickups, and monitor timely delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Matric certificate (a relevant post-matric qualification is advantageous)
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a storeroom or warehouse role involving inventory and order management
- Proficient in inventory control software and accounting systems (especially PASTEL)
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Effective communication and a proactive, detail-oriented work approach
