At Spar Centurion, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service in a safe and welcoming environment. As part of our commitment to the safety of our customers, staff, and store property, we are looking to appoint a reliable and vigilant Security Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor store premises to prevent theft, vandalism, or any suspicious activity
- Conduct regular patrols in and around the store
- Assist in managing access control at entry and exit points
- Ensure the safety of staff and customers at all times
- Monitor CCTV surveillance and respond to security incidents promptly
- Complete daily security logs and incident reports
- Work closely with store management and law enforcement if required
- Assist with crowd control during peak hours or special events
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric (advantageous but not essential)
- Valid PSIRA registration (Grade C or higher)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail or similar security role
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Strong work ethic, honesty, and integrity
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
