Position Summary

This role involves selling healthcare-related products or services, while also managing a variety of administrative functions such as processing applications, maintaining client records, and acting as a liaison between clients and healthcare providers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contact prospects and existing Discovery Health leads to provide quotes on various medical aid plans.
  • Follow up with clients regarding information sent, respond to queries, and assist in choosing the most suitable plan.
  • Handle all new business applications, including:
    • Submitting applications
    • Collecting and submitting underwriting requirements
    • Ensuring activation of membership in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Providing confirmation of acceptance to clients
  • Process requests for additions of dependents and newborn registrations.
  • Complete Health Financial Needs Analyses (FNAs).
  • Manage change of broker requests.
  • Provide ongoing servicing for all medical aid clients, including:
    • Claims assistance
    • Updating client information (e.g., banking or contact details)
    • Requesting duplicate membership cards and tax certificates
    • Handling authorisation and debit order queries
    • Assisting with employer billing and removing employees from company accounts
    • Providing international travel letters
    • Managing KeyCare income verification quarterly
  • Make calls to schedule appointments and follow up on quotations sent.
  • Respond to incoming client queries.
  • Conduct annual health plan reviews with all existing medical aid clients.
  • Deliver in-person presentations on medical aid options to clients and corporate groups.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Completion of the RE Exam is required.
  • Additional industry-related certifications are highly advantageous.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience within the insurance or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with the X Plan insurance system is a strong plus.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
  • Strong communication and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of medical aid processes and client service best practices.
