Salary Range: R152,304 – R178,008 per annum
Estimated Total Remuneration Package: R225,789 – R258,505 per annum
Job Purpose:
To support the team leader in executing tasks related to the wastewater collection network, including clearing sewer blockages.
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic literacy
- Ability to perform manual labor
- Previous experience in general maintenance of wastewater collection systems (advantageous)
- Physically fit and healthy, with no back-related issues
- Must consent to a criminal background check and be willing to have fingerprints taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own expense
- Willing and able to work shifts, be on standby, and work overtime as needed

Key Responsibilities:
- Clear sewer blockages
- Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, and rammers during sewer pipe repairs
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials from the plumber’s vehicle
- Operate and monitor water pumping equipment
- Assist with the alignment and installation of water pipe sections
- Hand tools and equipment to supervisors as required
- Clean the work area after completing tasks
- Maintain and load tools properly
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No. 85 of 1993)
- Maintain cleanliness of the depot and clean the plumber’s vehicle
