Introduction

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to carry out general cleaning duties across the Wet Mill, Starch, Co-product, Dry Products, and Refinery sections, following the Master Cleaning Schedule. Responsibilities include routine and ad hoc cleaning, managing product spillages, and reworking off-specification products as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Efficiency
- Utilize company resources effectively and responsibly
- Timely rework of off-specification products
Process Operations
- Maintain cleanliness across all plant areas as per instructions from the Field Operator/Process Controller
- Keep floors consistently clear of rework materials
- Promptly clean and rework any product spillages
- Ensure processing equipment and machinery are kept clean
- Perform deep cleaning of critical equipment during plant shutdowns
- Keep process bunds dry and free of product
- Report equipment faults or irregularities to the Field Operator/Process Controller
- Assist in monthly maintenance shutdown cleaning tasks
- Log shift activities, communicate effectively, and complete performance reports
- Follow the Master Cleaning Schedule and contribute to updating cleaning procedures
Sustainability & Hygiene
- Conduct routine safety inspections within the work area
- Maintain hygienic conditions throughout the plant
- Complete daily checklists aligned with the Master Cleaning Schedule
Health, Safety, Environment & Housekeeping (SHE)
- Maintain high housekeeping standards
- Comply with ISO 14000, 9001, 22000, and 18000 requirements
- Adhere to company safety rules (THS Golden Rules)
- Report all SHE-related incidents promptly
Customer Satisfaction
- Support quality production by immediately addressing spills and maintaining cleanliness
- Contribute to incident investigations to identify root causes and improvements
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with colleagues on shift schedules, leave, and meetings
- Provide on-the-job training to General Workers
- Engage actively in team-related activities
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- Background in a production or processing environment
- Familiarity with plant processes (FMCG experience is an advantage)
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
