Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is seeking General Workers for positions based in Steeldale and Johannesburg.
This role involves supporting daily operations within the warehouse, production, or logistics departments. The General Worker is responsible for carrying out manual tasks such as packing, sorting, loading, and cleaning to ensure efficient and safe workflow while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload goods as needed.
- Pack and label items according to provided guidelines.
- Sort, organize, and stack products in designated areas or on pallets.
- Keep the work area clean and well-organized.
- Assist in inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Provide support to machine operators or production line workers when necessary.
- Report any damaged goods or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Move raw materials and finished goods around the work area.
- Carry out any additional general tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum of Grade 10; Matric is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or factory setting is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and workplace safety practices.
- Punctual, dependable, and a team player.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good attention to detail.
- Basic communication skills (verbal and/or written).
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
- Must have a clear criminal record.
Remuneration:
- R28.97 per hour
