Job Overview

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking three experienced drivers to join its team on a contractual basis. The main responsibility of this role is to transport passengers and goods along scheduled routes, as well as to perform ad hoc messenger duties. This role requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and professional conduct.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute short-term tasks as per work plans set by the team leader.
  • Safely transport passengers according to predetermined routes and schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of the assigned vehicle.
  • Refuel vehicles, conduct routine checks, and report mechanical issues, damage, or incidents.
  • Comply with traffic laws and safety standards to ensure the safety of all road users.
  • Maintain trip records including passenger counts, mileage, and fuel usage; perform general administrative tasks supporting the division.
  • Adhere to strict schedules while adapting routes when unexpected changes occur.
  • Provide chauffeur services for senior executives and board members when required.
  • Assist with loading and unloading passenger luggage.
  • Carry out ad hoc messenger duties, including delivery of packages, documents, and correspondence within and outside SARB offices.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and calmness in all situations.
  • Continuously evaluate performance and address any skill gaps relevant to assigned tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • Licensing: Valid South African driver’s licence with a professional driving permit (PDP)
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years’ driving experience in a corporate or professional setting
