Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support the Payroll Administrators for both our South African and DRC operations. The ideal candidate will assist in the full monthly payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare all schedules and calculations required for payroll processing
- Review and verify HR documentation for new hires and salary adjustments
- Capture payroll transactions and salary updates using SAGE
- Generate payroll reports and distribute payslips
- Compile and submit statutory and third-party returns (monthly and annual)
- Post payroll journals and complete general ledger reconciliations
- Respond to payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner
- Support internal and external audits with relevant payroll documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar payroll role
- Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (especially SAGE)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and best practices
