Job Overview
SANBI is seeking a motivated, professional, and reliable individual to join the Mokopane Biodiversity Conservation Centre (MBCC) as a Cashier. The role includes handling cash and electronic payments, managing access control, and engaging with both paying and non-paying visitors.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 with 5 years of relevant experience, OR
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 with 4 years of relevant experience
- A qualification at NQF Level 5 will be advantageous
Essential Competencies:
- Proven experience in cash handling and electronic payment systems
- Proficiency in financial software operation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound numerical and data entry abilities
- High attention to detail and professional presentation
- Ability to engage well with the public
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet use
- A valid South African driver’s license with at least one year of practical driving experience
- Willingness to travel nationally as required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all cashier functions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain effective access control and assist with general site cleanliness
- Handle administrative tasks including bookings, public queries, and animal donation records
- Support HR functions, maintain stakeholder relations, and carry out other ad hoc duties as needed
