Position: Insolvency Administrator

Introduction:

A well-established firm in Pretoria East is seeking an experienced Insolvency Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full administration of insolvent estates and related legal processes.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – Essential
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in insolvency administration – Required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lodge requisitions.
  • Open and manage office files for new matters according to internal checklists.
  • Submit necessary documents such as Affidavit of Non-Interest, Bond of Security, Endorsements, and Undertakings.
  • Handle correspondence with co-appointed liquidators/trustees regarding administration processes and fee agreements.
  • Submit requests to the Master’s Office to convene the First Meeting of Creditors for companies or insolvent estates.
  • Follow up with the Master’s Office on meeting confirmations for (Pty) Ltds; convene meetings directly for CCs.
  • Work closely with company directors or HR departments to gather employee details and prepare employee claims.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employees and unions regarding the progress of estate administration.
  • Compile the Preliminary Creditors’ Report using information gathered during interviews and from CM100 forms.
  • Arrange professional valuations of assets included in the estate.
  • Apply for bond reductions with the Master based on asset valuations.
  • Request the opening of estate bank accounts.
  • Obtain the final Certificate of Appointment following the First Creditors’ Meeting.
  • Draft the Liquidator/Trustee Report for review and signature by co-appointed representatives.
  • Convene the Second Meeting of Creditors once minutes of the First Meeting are received from the Master.
  • Ensure proper advertisement of the meeting in the Government Gazette and newspapers (Citizen and Beeld) two weeks in advance.
  • Distribute reports to all known creditors ahead of the meeting.
  • Gather and compile creditor claims to be submitted with the meeting pack.
  • Coordinate with the meeting attendee to ensure claims are proved and resolutions adopted.
  • Lodge the full meeting pack at the Master’s Office at least 24 hours before the scheduled meeting.
  • Follow up on meeting minutes and confirm proof of claims.
  • Manage the collection of occupational rent, if applicable.
  • Organize asset sales or auctions.
  • Oversee administrative processes related to the transfer of immovable assets once sold.
  • Collect contributions from members, directors, or insolvents regarding movable assets in the estate.
