Introduction
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Driver to provide transportation and administrative support for the Pact team involved in the implementation of the ACHIEVE program in KwaZulu-Natal province, specifically in the Eshowe and Ugu districts.

Key Responsibilities
Transportation Duties:
- Transport Pact staff, travelers, and external guests to and from designated locations.
- Maintain and update the trip calendar to ensure movements are tracked and reported to the Senior Grants and Operations Manager.
- Plan the most efficient travel routes to ensure punctual arrivals and accurate navigation.
- Provide courteous and professional transportation services at all times.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations.
- Report any emergencies, including accidents or security incidents, to the appropriate authorities.
- Complete vehicle log sheets daily.
- Track and compile petrol card expenses for all company vehicles.
Administrative Support:
- Coordinate with the Senior Grants and Operations Manager on insurance-related matters.
- Monitor and record any traffic fines incurred by drivers and maintain the penalty tracker.
- Follow up on the resolution and payment of fines.
- Assess venues for meetings and accommodations using standardized checklists, especially during day trips in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Support the Travel, Logistics, and Administration (TLA) team with sourcing quotations for catering and conferencing as required.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and schedule regular servicing.
- Monitor mileage and other service indicators for all vehicles.
- Obtain quotes from service providers and submit cost approval requests through the Petrol Card Expense Sheet.
- Perform spot checks on tracker data against log sheets to ensure accuracy.
- Submit weekly kilometre logs and monthly petrol card reports.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, either by self-washing or through approved car wash services.
- Report vehicle damages for insurance processing.
- Confirm that vehicles are roadworthy and equipped with necessary tools and safety equipment (e.g. GPS, fire extinguisher, spare tire, jack, triangle).
- Address vehicle issues as reported by Pact staff.
Office Deliveries & Supplies:
- Maintain and restock stationery kits for use in workshops and trainings.
- Deliver and collect documents, parcels, and other items as required.
General Support:
- Assist the Senior Grants and Operations Manager with ad hoc tasks.
- Help move office furniture and equipment as needed.
- Support with organizing and tidying office storerooms.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional driver.
- Valid Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
- Clean driving record and a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Prior experience in an NGO environment, particularly on USAID-funded projects, is an added advantage.
