Position Summary:
Responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of patients, ensuring adherence to all regulations and protocols related to patient transport.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (compulsory)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Clean driving record — no prior infringements on license or permit
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a professional driver
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily vehicle inspections in line with National Road and Traffic Act regulations
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the Fleet Manager immediately
- Complete and maintain accurate daily logbooks and inspection checklists
- Deliver goods or transport staff as required
- Manage trip scheduling to ensure time and fuel efficiency
- Ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients and other passengers
- Park vehicles in designated secure areas, lock them, and store keys in a secure location
- Refuel vehicles before weekends or public holidays to ensure readiness
- Conduct daily equipment checks to confirm operational status
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle at all times
