Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • A Diploma in Secretarial/Administration or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a senior secretarial role, preferably within a government setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Strong administrative and document management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of staff, public stakeholders, and Councillors

Role Purpose

To provide comprehensive administrative and document management support to the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC), ensuring timely handling of correspondence and effective coordination of logistics through collaboration with the Office Manager.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the MMC and Office Manager with administrative functions and meeting preparation
  • Record minutes and track follow-up actions on decisions made
  • Manage the MMC’s schedule, including diary and travel logistics
  • Deliver general office and administrative support
  • Facilitate liaison between the MMC’s office, political stakeholders, and internal departments
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks and event coordination as needed
