Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is to transport passengers and goods safely between specified locations, adhering to set routes and schedules. The role also includes performing occasional messenger tasks for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Participate in short-term planning and complete tasks based on work plans set by the team leader.
- Transport passengers safely along designated routes and according to established schedules.
- Keep the shuttle vehicle clean and in good working condition.
- Refuel the vehicle, conduct routine checks, and report any mechanical faults, damage, incidents, or accidents.
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including the number of passengers, mileage, and fuel usage, and handle related administrative tasks.
- Stick to a strict timetable to ensure punctual pick-ups and drop-offs, while remaining flexible enough to adjust routes when necessary.
- Provide chauffeur services to senior management and board members as required.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage.
- Perform ad hoc messenger duties, including collecting and delivering documents, parcels, and other items between departments or external offices as needed.
- Always maintain a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor.
- Regularly assess your performance against set expectations and take steps to address any identified learning needs related to your tasks.
