Job Title: Housekeeper – Holiday Lodge
Location: Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R5,000 – R6,000 per month
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
Introduction:
A well-established holiday lodge located in the scenic Drakensberg region is looking for a reliable and diligent Housekeeper to join their hospitality team. This is a crucial operational position focused on ensuring the consistent cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and public areas throughout the lodge.
Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing guest rooms and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the lodge. Due to the expansive nature of the property, this role requires physical mobility and daily movement across various areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly clean and prepare guest rooms, including bed-making, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities
- Maintain hygiene standards in communal and service areas
- Report any maintenance issues or damages identified during cleaning
- Handle laundry and linen according to lodge protocols
- Coordinate with the housekeeping supervisor and team to ensure timely room turnover
- Adhere to health, hygiene, and safety standards at all times
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a housekeeping role within a lodge, hotel, or similar hospitality setting
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Physically fit and capable of walking long distances around the property
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with the team
- Must be available for shifts on weekends and public holidays
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in or near the Drakensberg
