Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is seeking a Van Assistant in the Vaal area to support the delivery of FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) products. The role involves assisting the Van Driver to ensure timely, safe, and efficient deliveries while upholding exceptional customer service and adherence to company protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during transit
- Verify and confirm delivery documentation, including delivery notes and customer signatures
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the van and its contents
- Assist the driver with navigation and time management on delivery routes
- Check product quantities and quality prior to departure
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers
- Provide on-site support in resolving delivery-related issues when needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during loading, transport, and delivery
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or incidents to the driver or supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Prior experience in deliveries, warehousing, or logistics (preferably within the FMCG sector) is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of delivery paperwork and inventory control
- Clear criminal record
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
