Job Introduction
Salary: R20 000 to R23 000
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused professional with excellent analytical, planning, and communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in import administration, logistics, or supply chain management. Prior experience in the Agriculture or Animal Feed industry is a strong advantage. Candidates must also demonstrate solid financial acumen and analytical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Import Coordination & Documentation
- Manage the full process of supplier contracts with both local and international vendors.
- Communicate and submit purchase contract details and required documentation to import customs agents.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date import documentation and filing systems.
- Coordinate closely with customs agents to monitor shipments and resolve delays or clearance issues.
Invoice & Financial Processing
- Process supplier (creditor) invoices for imported goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment terms.
- Track and manage invoice payments to ensure proper financial oversight.
- Prepare client (debtor) invoices when necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all imports are compliant with South African customs and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Generate reports on import activities and assist with audits or internal financial reviews related to imports, invoicing, and inventory.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide general administrative support across the logistics and sales functions.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal use or external stakeholders.
- Carry out other administrative duties as required to support the broader operational team.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customs agents, banks, logistics partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Promptly address and resolve issues relating to documentation, invoicing, inventory, and payment discrepancies.

Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience & Competencies:
- 2 to 4 years’ experience in import logistics, administration, or supply chain management.
- Background in agriculture or animal feed sectors is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in creditor/debtor invoice processing with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Familiarity with South African customs and import regulations (note: this role does not handle direct customs clearance).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High attention to detail in managing documentation, inventory, and financial records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Team player with the initiative and responsibility to work independently.
- Problem-solver with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
