About the Employer:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable and professional Store Driver to join their Kuruman branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers, while maintaining the high service standards expected by The Local Choice Corporate Stores.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be a South African citizen or have a valid work permit
- Clean credit and criminal record
- Physically fit and in good health
- Willingness to rotate and perform other in-store functions when necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver goods to customers efficiently, safely, and courteously
- Prioritize refrigerated deliveries using appropriate cold storage methods
- Ensure accurate delivery to correct customers within scheduled timeframes
- Submit all receipts and payment records to the cashier by end of day
- Follow the most efficient routes and return to store promptly after deliveries
- Repack vehicle after deliveries to prevent product damage
- Take accountability for stock and vehicle condition during transport
- Handle fragile and hazardous products with extra care
- Maintain compliance with store and transport policies and procedures
- Accurately complete all delivery documentation and vehicle logbook
- Process payments (cash and EFT only – cheques not accepted)
- Keep delivery vehicle clean and roadworthy; report any defects or incidents immediately
- Adhere strictly to road traffic laws and store’s vehicle usage policy
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers
- Report any customer concerns or complaints to management
- Wear the prescribed company uniform and adhere to safety regulations at all times
Competencies Required:
Essential:
- Proficient in English (read, write, and speak)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, honest, and punctual
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Customer service orientation and professional conduct
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Preferred:
- Experience in a similar delivery role
- Knowledge of a second South African language
