Job Overview
We are currently seeking a General Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others, works well in a retail environment, and takes pride in excellent customer service.
As a General Assistant, you’ll contribute to a pleasant shopping experience by assisting customers, keeping the store tidy, and ensuring shelves are well-stocked. Your positive attitude and willingness to help are key to maintaining a welcoming store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate product information and assist customers with product choices and demonstrations
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
- Greet customers warmly and respond to queries in a friendly, professional manner
- Promote store specials and sales to enhance the shopping experience
- Process transactions accurately (cash, card payments, refunds, exchanges)
- Receive and unpack deliveries, organize inventory, and track stock levels
- Restock shelves promptly and maintain product availability and presentation
- Properly dispose of waste and keep the store and storeroom areas clean
- Participate in regular stock takes
- Adhere to all health, safety, security, and environmental protocols
- Perform general cleaning duties (e.g., storeroom, kitchen areas)
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Experience in one of the following: General Assistant, General Worker, or General Clerk
- Fluent in English
- Reside within 25km of the store location
- Clear criminal record
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- South African citizenship
