Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is seeking a Fresh Produce Packer for a role based in the Steeldale area.
This position is responsible for the efficient, hygienic packing, labeling, and display of fresh produce in line with company standards. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality and safety of products while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, weigh, and pre-pack fruits and vegetables according to portion and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the packing area and equipment.
- Inspect produce for freshness, damage, and overall quality prior to packing.
- Accurately label items with pricing, product details, and expiry dates.
- Replenish and rotate stock on shelves using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure freshness.
- Assist with receiving and unpacking produce deliveries.
- Report any spoiled or damaged goods to the supervisor.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Offer courteous assistance to customers when required.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Previous experience in the fresh produce industry is preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of fruits and vegetables is essential
- Basic training in food handling or hygiene will be advantageous
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: R28.79
