Energy & Densification Systems (EDS), headquartered in Bryanston with warehousing and testing operations in Germiston, has developed a patented, innovative crushing and milling solution—the EDS Multishaft Mill. This compact vertical mill employs high-speed impact technology to achieve exceptional particle size reduction, energy efficiency, and enhanced material liberation. Its unique milling action integrates multiple processes to deliver a diverse range of output products tailored to various industry requirements.

Comminution is a significant contributor to energy consumption in mining operations, often exceeding 60% of total power usage. EDS addresses this challenge by offering a breakthrough solution: the EDS Mill, which delivers energy efficiencies up to 75% higher than traditional milling equipment and significantly improves liberation, making it a superior alternative for beneficiation processes.

By combining compact design, efficiency, and reduced power consumption, EDS offers a modern and cost-effective alternative to outdated milling technologies.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

General Administration

  • Maintain office supply inventory and ordering
  • Coordinate accommodation and travel bookings
  • Handle general administrative tasks (e.g. credit applications, business correspondence)
  • Record minutes during board meetings
  • Manage non-project-related procurement
  • Respond to incoming website queries
  • Implement and maintain internal policies and procedures
  • Provide PA support to executives
  • Assist in organizing company events and conferences
  • Deliver administrative support across departments

Human Resources (HR)

  • Verify and reconcile wage reports against timesheets
  • Process payroll and prepare payslips
  • Prepare and manage salary payments
  • Distribute payslips and related employee notices
  • Screen and interview job candidates
  • Draft and review employment contracts
  • Participate in disciplinary processes as needed
  • Support training, development, and career planning initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with POPI, PAIA, and HR-related legislation (e.g. BCEA)
  • Manage employee relations, grievances, and onboarding processes
  • Coordinate medicals, benefits, and pension fund submissions
  • Support performance management activities (KPIs, reviews)
  • Promote and maintain a positive company culture

Finance & Accounting

  • Maintain account schedules (debtors, creditors, ledgers, payments)
  • Prepare payment requisitions and manage petty cash reimbursements
  • Handle data entry and bank reconciliations
  • Compile and submit financial documentation to external accountants (with future transition to internal handling)
  • Monitor tax-related processes and fuel accounts
  • Reconcile monthly pension fund contributions with payroll
  • Issue remittance advice and follow up on outstanding debtors
  • Generate invoices and submit monthly statements
  • Assist with financial statements, reporting, and account/project coding
  • Ensure accurate journal entries and financial record-keeping

Desired Experience

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience across finance, HR, and general administration
  • Solid background in bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HR/IR functions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to accounting and/or HR software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and client interaction
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety standards
  • Ability to understand full operational systems and proactively identify or resolve issues
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations and accept constructive feedback

Qualifications

  • Matric certificate (compulsory)
  • Tertiary education or relevant certifications in HR, accounting, or administration (advantageous)
