Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. This role plays a vital part in delivering an excellent shopping experience by handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a computerised point-of-sale (POS) system with a built-in scale
  • Accurately scan items, process payments, and provide the correct change
  • Reconcile all payment methods and ensure balanced cash-ups
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace at the till
  • Deliver exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service
  • Stay informed about products, pricing, codes, and current promotions
  • Communicate effectively and manage time efficiently, especially during peak periods
  • Ensure the checkout area remains tidy and well-organised throughout your shift

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Minimum 1 year of cashier experience
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
  • Reside within 25 km of the job location
  • Clear criminal record

Preferred

  • South African citizenship
  • Familiarity with electronic POS systems
  • Ability to work six shifts per week, including Sundays and Public Holidays
