Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations and delegate responsibilities to support staff
  • Manage and monitor stock levels, ensuring accurate ordering, receipt, and distribution
  • Control and optimize the store’s budget, focusing on cost-efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with all legal health and safety requirements
  • Administer the procurement of food, resale, and beverage items
  • Receive stock in line with Tsebo’s policies and procedures
  • Issue stock from fridges, freezers, dry stores, and chemical stores according to portion specifications and timelines
  • Conduct accurate daily costing for meals, events, and functions
  • Capture invoices daily using Tsebo Source
  • Perform weekly stock counts and report on variances
  • Ensure all storage areas are clean, organized, date-marked, and follow hygiene protocols
  • Plan ahead to guarantee availability of stock and report shortages proactively
  • Manage wastage and leftover stock effectively
  • Conduct proper handovers and maintain detailed communication
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal clients
  • Safeguard all products and equipment in the store
  • Address client feedback and complaints, escalating where necessary
  • Assist in other units as needed and take on additional responsibilities upon request
  • Monitor stock rotation and product quality, ensuring freshness and compliance
  • Adhere to designated store operating hours

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of food and beverage stock management
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office, inventory systems)
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
  • Proven experience with stock control, costing, and storekeeping is highly advantageous

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) – required
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within catering or hospitality
