Job Title: Admin / Payroll / FSSC Administrator

Location: Cape Town (only candidates based in Cape Town will be considered)
Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month (negotiable for a highly suitable candidate)
Start Date: Immediate
Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:15
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00

Introduction

PlastiBox is a leading manufacturer and retailer of plastic containers, supplying both custom and off-the-shelf solutions to businesses and the general public. We are seeking a well-rounded, experienced Admin / Payroll / FSSC Administrator to support our operations across several business entities.

This is a diverse, hands-on role suited for someone with strong administrative and financial skills, an understanding of HR and compliance, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.


Key Responsibilities

  • Banking & Payments:
    • Daily online banking via FNB Business
    • Load payments and maintain beneficiary profiles
  • Accounts Management:
    • Manage supplier accounts across three companies
    • Analyse customer and supplier age analysis reports
  • Procurement & Stock:
    • Review weekly stock sheets and place orders as needed
    • Create purchase orders and capture supplier invoices (Quick Easy system – training provided)
    • Ensure goods are received in full and correctly recorded
  • Payroll Administration:
    • Process weekly and monthly payroll for both permanent staff and contractors (Infonetix software – training provided)
  • HR Administration:
    • Prepare contracts of employment
    • Manage statutory leave
    • Coordinate with SEESA on HR matters and follow through on actions
  • Compliance & Certification:
    • Oversee FSSC 22000 food safety program administration
    • Lead and supervise the FSSC team and ensure adherence to certification standards (training provided; prior experience an advantage)
    • Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) protocols
  • Document Management:
    • Maintain secure and well-organised filing systems (physical and digital)
  • Executive Support:
    • Provide administrative and personal assistant support to company directors
  • Cross-Company Support:
    • Work with a small group of affiliated companies and support their administrative requirements
    • Assist company bookkeepers as needed

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in general admin, payroll, and procurement functions
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (FSSC 22000) and GMP protocols preferred
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Bilingual in Afrikaans and English (essential)
  • Cape Town-based (essential)
  • Confident, well-presented, and self-motivated
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn internal systems and grow within the business
