Position: Truck Driver (Code 14)
Location: Gqeberha, Eastern Cape
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP and a clean driving record
- Proven track record in a truck driving role
- Solid understanding of road safety laws and driving regulations
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and factory health and safety protocols
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport products efficiently within the yard, between production facilities, and to/from company warehouses as needed
- Log vehicle usage daily, including date, time, mileage, and destinations in the vehicle logbook
- Accurately record product movements in shunting books
- Load and unload goods using a forklift, ensuring timely and precise stock transfers
- Adhere to all health, safety, and company operational policies when operating trucks and forklifts
- Follow regulations regarding vehicle load limits, speed restrictions, and all aspects of the Road Traffic Act
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, reporting any issues or faults immediately
- Collect daily delivery schedules from the supervisor and deliver goods to the appropriate warehouses
- Ensure all goods are securely loaded, and no damaged products are transported
- Collect only undamaged Chep pallets from customers
- Maintain thorough daily records to ensure tracking and accountability of movements
- Promptly report any accidents, damages, or traffic violations, and notify the supervisor of any vehicle maintenance needs
- Perform general warehouse and distribution support tasks as required to meet operational goals
