About the Role:
HLI Insurance Brokers is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Insurance Administrator to join their growing team. This internal role involves supporting the insurance department through efficient administration of policy documents, processing of claims, and delivering excellent client service.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and familiar with insurance operations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy Management & Administration
- Handle processing of new applications, renewals, amendments, and cancellations
- Ensure policy documents and client records are current and accurate
- Issue policy endorsements, certificates, and other relevant documentation in a timely manner
Claims Handling
- Assist in compiling and submitting insurance claims
- Track progress and follow up on pending claims
- Liaise with clients and insurers to ensure smooth and compliant claims resolution
Customer Support & Communication
- Provide responsive support to client inquiries and maintain positive client relations
- Ensure clear and professional communication with clients and stakeholders
General Administration
- Support the insurance team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Maintain filing systems, manage correspondence, and schedule appointments
- Assist with internal audits and ensure file compliance with company and regulatory standards
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) – a certificate/diploma in Insurance, Finance, or Business Administration is an advantage
- FAIS compliance and RE5 certificate (advantageous)
- 1–3 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or administration
- Knowledge of insurance products, claims procedures, and industry regulations
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and insurance-related software
- Excellent data entry, record-keeping, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Solid communication and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of FSCA, FAIS, and FICA compliance (advantageous)
