About the EMEA Division
Our EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Emerging Europe, and Africa) region is BASF’s most important market, with operations in more than 50 countries.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
This is a trainee opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience and on-the-job training within a dynamic production environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the production team, gaining exposure to various operational and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all functional maintenance tasks efficiently and on time.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment in compliance with the OSH Act and BASF’s EHSQ Policy.
- Uphold all relevant elements of the Quality Management System.
- Manage the placement of raw materials on the production floor.
- Ensure that only Quality Control-approved products proceed for filling.
- Operate forklifts to transport raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct routine plant inspections using a checklist during shifts.
- Support high safety and housekeeping standards in your work area.
- Maintain personal protective equipment and work tools in good condition.
- Operate plant machinery safely and efficiently.
- Meet monthly productivity improvement targets.
- Perform any additional duties as required within the role’s scope.
- Follow all BASF procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure all departmental responsibilities are completed effectively and on schedule.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
- One of the following:
- Completion of NQF Level 2 theory for Chemical Operators (with only the practical component pending), OR
- N6 in Chemical Engineering with outstanding practical training.
