Job Description: Packing Operator

Purpose of the Role

To efficiently package finished products in accordance with quality standards while meeting operational throughput targets in a food-safe and hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various packing machines to package finished products.
  • Achieve production targets per shift.
  • Continuously monitor and record quality results.
  • Maintain a clean, food-safe, and hygienic workspace at all times.
  • Promptly report production downtime to the supervisor or manager.
  • Record and analyze downtime causes.
  • Perform deep cleaning of machinery and work areas.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department (HOD).
  • Actively participate in and facilitate Invocom™ meetings.

  • Strong numerical skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Matric / Grade 12.
  • Experience:
    • 2–3 years of experience in the milling industry.
    • 3–4 years of experience as a packing operator.

Key Working Conditions

  • Work environment: Hot and noisy milling environment.
  • Requires flexibility to work beyond normal hours, including overtime.
  • Involves working with and on heavy mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Shift work required.
