Responsibilities:
- Handle a variety of items, ensuring their movement to diverse warehouse locations.
- Operate a reach truck and forklift for picking, binning, and relocating items, as well as loading and unloading items from transport vehicles.
High-level Objectives:
- Execute picking, binning, and receiving tasks in the warehouse and yard facility.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently.
- Uphold a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of material handling equipment, reporting any faults.
- Adhere to the picking schedule to ensure on-time completion of loads.
Main Responsibilities:
- Effectively control stock, managing the receipt and transfer of stock (incoming and outgoing).
- Accurately check, scan, and receive stock in accordance with receiving and stock control policies.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct physical verifications of products/stacks against picking slips and delivery notes.
- Perform and log quality checks (product temperatures) on incoming and outgoing products.
- Verify stock on the computerized system.
- Inspect stacks for compliance with company quality standards and stacking requirements.
- Log all non-conforming pallets on delivery notes and control documents.
- Commit and adhere to the requirements of the 20 Keys continuous workplace improvement program and other company management systems.
Requirements:
- Grade 10.
- Valid forklift driving license.
- Previous experience in forklift and reach truck operation.
- Previous experience in chemical handling.
- Previous experience in loading and off-loading trucks with a forklift.
- Experience with products having shelf life and expiry dates – LIFO (Last in First Out) vs FIFO (First in First Out).
- 2 years’ experience in an FMCG environment.
- Knowledge of warehousing and distribution.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in warehousing.
Required Skill Sets:
- Comfortable with the Ecowize culture and values.
- Ability to work strict shifts, including weekends.
- Experience in the food production industry.
- Ability to manage the strict flow of operations.
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment and meeting deadlines.
- High work standards, energetic, and driven.
- Excellent communication skills (English Command).
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Applications.
- Attention to detail.
- Customer-centric.
