Key Purpose of the Role: This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration within the Retirement Funds business unit. It involves core administration functions, requiring the incumbent to holistically manage a portfolio of various Retirement Fund disciplines. This includes tasks such as monthly contribution reconciliation and investment, Section 13A non-compliance letters and calculations, Default Reg requirements, T-day and new member processes. The incumbent must ensure the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of processes and procedures. Operational activities should adhere to regulatory frameworks accurately, effectively, and efficiently. The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills, tools, and competencies required for the job within service level agreements. Being part of a growing business unit, the incumbent should demonstrate an appetite for continuous improvement, adapt easily to change, play a role in change management within the team, challenge the status quo, inspire, and motivate others. The incumbent will regularly review existing processes and procedures to ensure committed services are delivered to Umbrella Funds Clients.

Areas of Responsibility May Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Processing daily and monthly transactional activity within agreed service levels.
  • Performing QA functions for document verification when necessary.
  • Ensuring accurate, compliant, and up-to-date day-to-day administration in accordance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Dealing with queries from internal stakeholders, effectively communicating with clients to resolve queries and escalations, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Preparing management and client reports for submission to superiors.
  • Handling escalated calls or queries from internal stakeholders, communicating effectively with clients to resolve queries and escalations, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent business relations with internal and external brokers.

Personal Attributes and Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Reporting Skills: Ability to consolidate information and compile reports with relevant information.

Education and Experience:

  • Matric – essential
  • 5 years of Employee Benefits, Retirement Funds, Umbrella Fund experience – Essential
  • NQF level 6 or similar is advantageous
  • Relevant Industry Qualifications – Wealth Management, Introduction to Retirement Funds – Advantageous
  • MS Office – Advanced Excel Skills, Retirement Fund and Umbrella Fund operations, Accounting, Investments.
