Job Description:

Role Overview: The incumbent will be responsible for providing safe, secure, and timely driving services to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the company. This includes driving mobile units to ensure access to HIV prevention and testing services for employees beyond the workplace. Additionally, the role involves the proper maintenance and upkeep of the company vehicle.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upkeep the company vehicle.
  • Provide safe transportation for all business requirements.
  • Manage the maintenance of company vehicles and units.
  • Assist with various activities at testing sites as directed by line management.
  • Assist with HIV and TB testing.
  • Drive the vehicle for official travel and business purposes, or as requested.
  • Ensure punctuality and safe transport through sound navigation skills.
  • Adhere to road and traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain safe driving practices in line with local driving codes and internal standards.
  • Ensure vehicle repairs are conducted properly according to official manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Maintain the vehicle logbook.

Education:

  • High School diploma or Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).

Advantageous:

  • Completion of a Safe Driving Course or similar certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.

Requirements:

  • Valid code A Driver’s license.
  • Valid Professional Drivers Permit (PDP).
  • Understanding of specimen handling and transportation.
  • Fluency in local languages (Zulu, Setswana, English, SeSotho, Xhosa, Afrikaans).
  • Practical experience with Road Legislation.
  • South African citizenship or valid work permit.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Provide current and relevant references for background checks.
