Discovery Life Administrator – Legal Debt Collection

The role of the Legal Debt Collection Administrator is pivotal in managing intermediary debt efficiently to ensure recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Update records on Discovery’s systems to accurately reflect the status of files.
- Understand the origin of debt within the organization and follow internal processes for recovery.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and policies for compliance.
- Generate and analyze reports to inform decisions on collections and financial transactions.
- Negotiate with debtors to collect debt within specified time frames.
- Report any debt risks to team leaders.
- Take ownership and resolve queries within service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Matriculation
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a commissions environment
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry
- Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance industry
Advantageous:
- 1 year of experience in a commissions environment within Discovery
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
- Proficiency in computer usage with strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of the Insurance Industry
Advantageous:
- Understanding of legal processes, debt collection, and the National Credit Act
- Familiarity with Discovery Sales Distribution Channels
- Ability to navigate various Discovery systems for information retrieval and verification
