Discovery Life Administrator – Legal Debt Collection

The role of the Legal Debt Collection Administrator is pivotal in managing intermediary debt efficiently to ensure recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Update records on Discovery’s systems to accurately reflect the status of files.
  • Understand the origin of debt within the organization and follow internal processes for recovery.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and policies for compliance.
  • Generate and analyze reports to inform decisions on collections and financial transactions.
  • Negotiate with debtors to collect debt within specified time frames.
  • Report any debt risks to team leaders.
  • Take ownership and resolve queries within service level agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Matriculation
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a commissions environment
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance industry

Advantageous:

  • 1 year of experience in a commissions environment within Discovery

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Proficiency in computer usage with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Industry

Advantageous:

  • Understanding of legal processes, debt collection, and the National Credit Act
  • Familiarity with Discovery Sales Distribution Channels
  • Ability to navigate various Discovery systems for information retrieval and verification
