Packer (Packaging) At Heineken

Applications are welcomed for the aforementioned position, based in Sedibeng. The incumbent will report to the Packaging Shift Manager.

Responsibilities:

Operation: Efficiently operate 2 or more packaging equipment to meet productivity, cost, quality, safety, and morale objectives.

  • Check equipment availability before startup.
  • Operate and shut down equipment following standard operating procedures.
  • Perform changeovers as per the packaging production plan.
  • Conduct shift handovers.
  • Clean workstation and equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Participate in shift meetings.
  • Provide feedback on equipment performance.
  • Hand over to the incoming shift.

Maintenance: Conduct first-line maintenance on packaging equipment.

  • Interpret scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Execute first-line maintenance per standard operating procedures.
  • Report faults and deviations to the packaging technician and team leader.
  • Adhere to safe work procedures.
  • Engage in related asset care initiatives (CILT, TPM) for first-line maintenance.

Safety, Health, and Environment: Ensure compliance with SHE standards for safe de-palletizing processes.

  • Report unsafe conditions and accidents.
  • Follow safe work procedures, including using the correct PPE.
  • Segregate and dispose of waste according to the waste handling program.
  • Participate in safety meetings and committees.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to company SHE standards and the OHS Act.
  • Promote a zero-accident mentality through continuous education and training.

Compliance: Adhere to quality standards for packaging a quality beverage.

  • Perform quality checks on packaging processes.
  • Monitor packaging equipment control parameters.
  • Support all quality initiatives.
  • Capture and maintain data records for reference and auditing.
  • Follow and maintain requirements and procedures specified in the Quality Systems subscribed to by Sedibeng Brewery (Laboratory Star System, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).

Qualifications: Minimum Matric Certificate/NQF3.

Experience: Minimum 1-5 years of relevant FMCG experience.
