Operations:
- Act as a crucial link between service providers, customs, depots, and operational staff.
- Submit customs documentation, coordinate customs examinations, and arrange port health/anti-smuggling inspections as necessary.
- Collect and deliver freight, ensuring accurate completion of PODs (Signature, name, company stamp, and date).
- Expedite cargo collection and delivery upon release to prevent storage.
- Ensure proper checking and weighing of cargo, notifying the office of any discrepancies.
- File entries and PODs, monitor and report storage, and assist with RIB and RIT acquittals.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks in accordance with the checklist.
- Check for import documents from airline handling agents daily.
- Communicate with all departments to prioritize important cargo and make alternative arrangements for unmet deliveries.
Sales & Service Coordination:
- Maintain customer service levels, serving as a crucial frontline link between the office and clients, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Follow up on leads or communicate opportunities to the Line Manager.
- Manage all Company-owned property with the Company’s best interest in mind, including airfreight vehicles and cell phones.
- Maintain daily log sheets documenting the number of calls, times, kilometers, and client signatures.
- Immediately report any accidents to SAPS and the Manager.
