The primary objective of this position is to ensure the secure transportation of goods to and from destinations while adhering to established procedures.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12
- Minimum of 3 years of delivery experience
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit) is essential
- Strong time management skills are essential
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to perform under pressure
- Demonstrated honesty and integrity
- Maintenance of sober habits
- Clear criminal record
Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pre-departure and return vehicle inspections
- Submitting inspection lists to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for approval before receiving a new inspection list
- Immediate reporting of any vehicle errors before departure from the premises
- Collaborating with the supervisor to check parcels before loading, adhering to the New Dispatch Loading procedure
- Timely delivery of parcels to customers on the designated route as per the schedule and trip sheet
- Ensuring customer compliance with the Proof of Delivery (POD) procedure
- Adhering to the Return for Credit (RFC) procedure
- Delivery of all documents and collection slips assigned to the trip sheet and obtaining POD
- Signing trip sheets at the POD clerk and ensuring the completeness of all assigned documents received the following day
- Taking responsibility for outstanding trip sheets and potential claims on No POD queries
- No stock transfers allowed between customer shops
- Regular maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle, with immediate reporting of any issues to the dispatch supervisor
- Reporting any delivery or POD-related problems to the dispatch supervisor
