Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar position.
- Presentable with excellent communication skills.
- A clear criminal record.
Responsibilities:
Learner Transportation:
- Drive a school transportation vehicle along prescribed routes according to time schedules.
- Pick up and drop off students at designated stops.
- Transport students and teachers on field trips, planning routes and stops as necessary.
- Maintain order and proper discipline among student passengers in accordance with district policy.
General Worker Duties:
- Perform general maintenance and facility support tasks.
- Receive and address maintenance requests.
- Conduct daily checks to ensure facility functionality and maintenance.
- Complete necessary maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs.
- Inform facilities manager of any required repairs or maintenance needs.
- Perform general maintenance tasks across the facility.
- Monitor and advise facilities manager on maintenance consumables and gardening requirements.
- Store and maintain gardening and maintenance tools.
Health and Safety:
- Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of assigned vehicle.
- Report mechanical repairs when necessary.
- Service buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; check and fill tires and batteries as needed.
- Participate in periodic safety drills and training updates.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
- Attend safety, first aid, and training meetings as required.
Record Keeping:
- Complete periodic mileage and passenger count reports.
- Demonstrate personal commitment to education and contribute to the values and ethos of the school.
