Truck Driver – Job Description
Overview
The role involves driving and delivering products/raw materials both within and outside the site, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.

- Production Department
- Other relevant stakeholders as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 (or equivalent)
- Code 14 driver’s license with a Dangerous Goods Permit
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving trucks/tractors
- 1 year experience in a production environment
- 1 year experience in an explosives environment (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport and deliver products/raw materials to and from the plant and client locations.
- Assist with packaged distribution tasks as needed.
- Ensure full compliance with SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk & Quality) regulations.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Job Competencies:
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficient in truck driving under various road conditions
- Safety and quality conscious in all aspects of transport operations
Skills & Attributes:
- Basic mechanical knowledge (advantageous)
- Troubleshooting & fault-finding skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without supervision
