Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 / National Certificate
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- At least 3 years of experience as a professional truck driver
- Experience in loading, securing, and unloading cargo
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance
- Basic mechanical knowledge for inspections and minor maintenance
- Proficiency in using GPS and following assigned routes
- Understanding of fatigue management and driver wellness
- Experience in logistics, fleet management, or the transport industry is an advantage

- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Physically fit to handle loading and unloading tasks

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Load Management:
- Ensure compliance with load weight regulations
- Conduct pre-load inspections for cargo safety
- Secure loads to prevent shifting or damage
- Perform vehicle walk-around checks before departure
2. Route Adherence:
- Follow assigned travel routes
- Report any route deviations or incidents
- Comply with all road safety regulations
3. Trip Management:
- Manage fuel consumption and scheduled diesel fill-ups
- Minimize unscheduled stops
- Report violations, incidents, and accidents
- Maintain accurate trip logs and job card records
4. Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct daily, weekly, and ad-hoc vehicle inspections
- Check and maintain tyres, brakes, lights, mirrors, and suspension
- Report mechanical issues and request repairs
- Ensure truck and trailers remain clean
5. Personal & Safety Compliance:
- Always wear the correct PPE
- Follow safe working practices
- Monitor driver wellness and fatigue levels
- Adhere to company policies on health and safety
