Job Summary
Supreme Processing is currently seeking a Stores Assistant to join the Dry Goods Store department.
This role supports the production and maintenance teams by ensuring the timely supply of stock needed for daily operations. The Stores Assistant will report directly to the Stores Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a stores or warehouse environment
- Basic numerical skills
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- Valid forklift license
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming deliveries and verify them against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Allocate received stock to the correct shelves, racks, or designated floor space in the store
- Ensure proper stock rotation using the FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) / FIFO (First In, First Out) method before picking
- Replenish stock levels on shelves and pallets as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area
- Stay alert to production team stock requirements and respond promptly
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations within the workplace
- Accurately record stock issues in the requisition book, including product codes, descriptions, quantities, batch numbers, and post-issue stock balances
- Keep pallets neat and organized at all times
- Check for product damages and monitor expiry dates
- Collaborate and assist co-workers as a team player
- Participate in periodic stock takes
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Ensure that housekeeping in and around the stores is maintained to required standards
