Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Life Claims Administrator, reporting to the Claims Manager: Life, you will handle claims processing, follow up on outstanding documents, and maintain communication with stakeholders through various channels (email, telephone, SMS). You will also manage the daily operations of the branch (if applicable), assist walk-in clients, and direct queries according to the Service Level Agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Administration:
- Acknowledge receipt of claims.
- Explain the claims process and requirements to claimants and brokers.
- Direct claims to the appropriate departments.
- Follow up on outstanding documents and send reminders as needed.
- Prepare, scan, and index documents (e.g., medical reports, invoices) in line with company procedures and the Service Level Agreement.
- Organize scanned documents and ensure clear, legible copies with proper resolution.
- Prevent duplicate documents from being uploaded into the system.
- Perform claims registration and verification.
- Provide backup support for team members when required.
- Carry out additional ad hoc duties as assigned.
Query Resolution:
- Handle and resolve customer inquiries.
- Identify and escalate priority issues.
Team Administration:
- Keep records of office activities, including a register of walk-in clients.
- Order office supplies and arrange team meetings, distributing minutes as necessary.
- Manage the central mailbox, allocate tasks, and route queries.
Customer Service:
- Regularly communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal staff via phone, email, and in person.
- Manage walk-in queries in accordance with the RMA Service Catalogue.
- Provide accurate product and service information to customers efficiently.
- Update customer personal information and handle inquiries professionally and empathetically.
- Assist stakeholders with the correct processes for logging queries.
Reporting:
- Report on progress using designated templates and channels as needed.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Grade 12/Matric qualification.
- NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate or Advanced National Certificate in business administration or commerce.
- 2-3 years of experience in clerical work, scanning, and indexing.
- Data-entry experience with proficient typing skills.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Customer service skills and experience in claims processing and approval.
- Insurance or medical aid experience is a plus.
- Deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
