About the Role
This in-service traineeship is designed for students who need practical experience as part of their academic curriculum. The 12-month fixed-term contract with Caledon Maltings offers hands-on and theoretical training to help students complete their National Diploma qualification while contributing to real-world production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of equipment and workplace.
- Analyze samples and communicate results promptly.
- Support the production value chain and report non-conformances.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively within a team.
- Apply and develop technical skills in alignment with tertiary education requirements.
Candidate Profile:
- Final-year student pursuing a National Diploma in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Food Technology
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and numeracy skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain mentally alert in a dynamic environment.
