Job Vacancy: General Worker

Reporting To: Maintenance Foreman
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- At least 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment
- Proficiency in computer usage
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical industrial plant operations
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Role Purpose
The General Worker will assist with various maintenance tasks within the facilities or as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or Plant Foreman. This role involves performing technical work based on standard operating procedures and prior experience while working closely with operations and other technical teams. Additionally, the role supports a strong safety culture by adhering to local safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general duties and tasks assigned by the Foreman without direct supervision.
- Carry out maintenance activities in the plant, workshop, or other facilities during production and operational processes.
- Execute preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance in line with IWC standards and procedures.
- Identify and report equipment or plant deviations.
- Plan tasks and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Maintain housekeeping in accordance with 5S principles.
- Undertake additional duties as requested by senior staff.

- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Fluency in English
- Physically fit and in good health, with no respiratory issues, and good vision and hearing
- Ability to work while wearing specified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Basic reading and writing skills
