Introduction
Our client, a prestigious hotel and conference center in Pretoria, is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join their team immediately. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods, guests, and materials while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Safe & Timely Transportation:
- Transport goods, passengers, or materials safely and on schedule.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections:
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report any mechanical issues and ensure timely servicing.
Route & Schedule Management:
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries or arrivals.
- Adjust travel plans based on traffic, weather, or unforeseen conditions.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with driving regulations, including holding a valid driver’s license.
Health & Safety Adherence:
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including securing cargo and ensuring safe loading/unloading.
- Adhere to occupational health and safety assessments as required.
Professional Conduct & Customer Service:
- Represent the hotel with a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and suppliers.
- Be available for after-hours and weekend shifts due to the nature of the hospitality industry.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
Experience & Skills:
- 2–3 years of experience in a professional driver role.
- Valid Driver’s License – Code B (Essential)
- Code C Driver’s License & Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) (Advantageous)
- English proficiency & strong communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Excellent navigation, time management, and organizational skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving goods when required
- Own reliable transport (Essential)
