Role Purpose:
To ensure accurate, timely, and safe delivery of goods in excellent condition, providing professional customer service and supporting inter-branch operations. The role includes daily vehicle checks, proper loading and offloading supervision, and contributing to the overall customer satisfaction and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service during all deliveries
- Complete daily trip sheets (recording departure/arrival times and mileage)
- Conduct a daily pre-trip vehicle inspection and report any issues using the Vehicle Repair Report
- Ensure truck assistants remain with the vehicle at all times
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes
- Verify that all outgoing stock has proper documentation before loading
- Maintain accurate records in the transfer logbook, ensuring signatures from receiving branches
- Guarantee that all stock is delivered in perfect condition
- Submit weekly evaluation reports to your supervisor
- Report any delays or issues at branches immediately
- Check in with your supervisor at the end of each workday
- Participate in stock takes and assist with general duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Matric certificate or equivalent (or at least 3 completed Intercept courses totaling 120 credits)
- Candidates without Matric but with 3+ years of driving experience will be considered
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence (higher codes advantageous)
- Valid PDP (Public Driving Permit) for Goods and Passengers
- At least 3 years of driving experience
- Strong communication and reading skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding service
- Knowledge of vehicle loading procedures
- Good planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong monitoring and problem-solving abilities
