Job Opportunity – Driver
Role Overview
Purpose:
We are seeking a punctual and reliable driver with strong time management skills. The primary responsibilities include:
- Collecting raw materials from suppliers in the northern suburbs, southern suburbs, and deep south areas.
- Returning goods to suppliers and transporting outsourced work to third parties.
- Handling urgent local deliveries to clients when required.
- Loading and unloading heavy objects, requiring upper body strength and stamina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect raw materials from Akacia suppliers according to the designated schedule, ensuring proper handling during transport.
- Pick up office supplies and other materials as instructed, delivering them safely and on time.
- Complete and submit a daily trip sheet detailing routes, deliveries, and any delays or incidents.
- Deliver packages to customers professionally and efficiently, ensuring all instructions are followed.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with clients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assist in the warehouse by verifying orders before dispatch when not assigned to driving duties.
Additional Duties:
- Serve as a warehouse checker when not required to drive.
- Assist with purchasing meals and groceries when necessary.
- Participate in annual stocktaking.
- Be available for overtime when required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Previous driving experience (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license and PDP (no restrictions)
- Must be sober, reliable, and trustworthy
