Job Opportunity: Code 14 Driver (Krugersdorp & Alexandra)
Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is seeking experienced Code 14 Drivers for the Krugersdorp and Alexandra areas. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining vehicle compliance with company and road regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation:
- Safely operate a Code 14 heavy-duty truck, adhering to traffic laws and company guidelines.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness.
- Monitor fuel levels, tires, oil, and other essential systems.
Route & Delivery Management:
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for on-time deliveries.
- Report delays or issues to the Transport Manager.
- Keep detailed trip logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and departure/arrival times.
Loading & Unloading:
- Assist in loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are secure for transit.
- Inspect items upon arrival to ensure they were not damaged in transport.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Complete and manage all necessary delivery documentation, including manifests and invoices.
- Maintain accurate records for compliance purposes (e.g., fuel receipts, mileage logs).
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow road safety regulations, weight limits, and loading restrictions.
- Adhere to company safety policies and report any vehicle defects or incidents.
Customer Service:
- Interact with clients professionally.
- Address any customer concerns efficiently.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues.
- Keep the truck clean and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PDP
- Dangerous Goods & Superlink Certification
- Clean criminal record
- Contactable references
- Previous experience in a similar role
Compensation
💰 R79 per hour
