Code 10 Driver – The Freightmore Group
Requirements:
- Matric qualification & well-spoken
- Fluency in at least two official languages (preferred)
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PrDP (held for at least 2 years)
- Minimum 5 years’ driving experience
- Experience with Volvo and Scania trucks (advantageous)
- No criminal record
- Neat and well-groomed (PPE must be worn and maintained in a clean condition)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist drivers while reversing to ensure safety.
- Communicate with zone controllers via cellphone.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, both inside and out.
- Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and properly stored.
- Report losses, damages, or discrepancies related to cargo, equipment, and paperwork.
- Interact professionally with clients, maintaining a polite and pleasant demeanor.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Own transport preferred (company transport provided only where legally required and may be charged to the employee).
- Basic computer skills (advantageous).
- Own cellphone in working condition.
- Previous freight experience (5 years preferred).
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment polygraph test.
- Must provide at least two contactable references.
